Construction licenses in Poland are granted in various specialties and scopes — for design and/or site management. Candidates may apply for licenses either without limitations or with a limited scope, depending on their education and completed professional experience.

📐 Scope of construction licenses

Unlimited – covers all types of buildings, regardless of their purpose and size
Limited – applies to selected buildings, e.g. single-family houses or installations with limited technical scope

Structural

Full design and construction management of the entire building (architecture + structure)

Up to 1000 m³, max 12 m height, up to 3 floors, span up to 6 m, no mining impact

Bridge

Road and railway engineering structures, bridges, tunnels, culverts, etc.

Single-span bridge up to 21 m from prefabricated elements, culvert on stable ground

Road

Public roads, airport roads, culverts (excluding other engineering structures)

Local, access, internal and auxiliary airport roads

Railway – Construction

Stations, lines, railway sidings (excluding electrical installations and traffic control)

As above, excluding railway lines over 200 km/h

Railway – Traffic Control

Railway traffic control and safety devices

Excludes stations with >50 switches and automatic blocks

Hydraulic

Hydraulic structures (marine and land), temporary and permanent
